I was watching a docuseries on Netflix the other day. It was called, One Strange Rock, hosted by Will Smith about this world we call Earth and the many beautiful and strange things we can find here. There is an episode about Monarch Butterflies which tells an amazing story that brought me great comfort and touched me deeply.

Every year, at around the time the people celebrate the Day of the Dead, monarch butterflies from all over the world make their way to Central America. Over time, the visiting Monarchs became part of the celebration representing the souls of their loved ones who passed away. How beautiful is that? It gave me comfort that when I see a butterfly flying around, it could be someone from my past whether it is Robin (my sweet kitty) or my grandmother. It brings me comfort to know that in some small way, they are a part of this world. It’s a beautiful thought and brings tears to my eyes.
