I don’t normally work on resolutions for the new year. Usually, I never keep up with them and they just sit there the whole year without being done. This year I decided to set up a few monthly goals to work on in pieces through the year. It takes 21 days to replace a bad habit with a new habit, so I’m going to try it each month. If I reach my goals at the end of this year, fine, but if not, that’s okay too. What matters is that I try to reach them each month.
Regaining Control
In an effort to gain control over my health and my life, I decided to start using a bullet journal. At first I was a little wary of it, but I’m finding that drawing doodles in it is fun and doesn’t hurt my hands as much as it used to and the more I use my hands, the easier it gets. Doodling is relaxing and easier than you think. Since no one will see it, it doesn’t matter how messy or ugly it is…or how lopsided my minions are… what matters is that I like it. I’ll keep most of my month goals private but there are a few that I might share through the year as I come to them. These goals aren’t going to be easy for me. I’ve been struggling lately with keeping myself motivated with everything, so I hope the monthly goals will help.
My word for this year is simplicity and change… well that’s two words… Oh well… My goal is to simplify what I am doing areas that are taking up too much time in an effort to free up time so I can relax a little more.
