We have curious cats at home… two of them. They are our sweeties. Simba is named after the Lion King “Simba” who was into EVERYTHING! Our Simba is always into stuff from sucking on plastic bags to crawling up a tree. (Yes, we can’t have Christmas Trees in our house because he uses them as a perch… haha). Our other furbaby is named Midnight, though I wanted to name him Funny Face after Fred Astaire’s song in the movie Funny Face, which is one of my favorite movies. He is a beautiful black kitty with the sweetest meow and funny face. If you haven’t been able to tell it, I LOVE cats! Even though this kitty has white fur, she reminds me of my own special Funny Face, Midnight being curious about the koalas on my nails.
I wanted something cute for such a serious topic as climate change…or for such a volatile one. There’s so many different opinions about climate change, most of which is political. I’m not going to go into whether I believe in it or not. I do, but I won’t elaborate on it here… What I am saying is that most of the people that I have talked to or who have preached to me, don’t practice what they preach.
They still use cars. They still litter by throwing their wrappers on the ground. They still use plastic cups, straws and containers. They preach at me about climate change and how “we are destroying the world” while they are doing the very things that are destroying the world… i.e. throwing their litter on the ground, smoking cigarettes (yes, look up the chemicals in them. They don’t just cause cancer, they also hurt the environment), vaping… etc.
Point is, these people should be showing by example that that they care as much as they say they do. To be clear, I’m not saying that everyone does this but about 90% of the people who have come at me over it, are and it makes it hard to take anything they say as legitimate. So, what are you doing to combat the issue? What are you doing to make a difference in your home or at your work? How are you making a difference? Check that before you poke at me cuz while you don’t see it, I do my part in the ways that I can financially and physically. Find some more methods to make a difference in your own home and work here and here.
By the way, Adventurites, these cute little koala nails are available for 100% donation to RSPCA – New South Wales Bushfire Appeal from Go Frock Yourself. Aren’t they cute? Your purchase is just a small way to make a difference. See you next time, Adventurites! Have a wonderful weekend! ~LA
