Privacy Policy
At Lizzy’s Grand Adventures, the privacy of my visitors are of utmost importance. This privacy policy outlines some basics of how and why I use data from visitors on my blog. Our website address is: https://www.lizzysgrandadventures.com. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has become an important topic for many people surfing the internet, while Lizzy’s Grand Adventures is not monetized and the Self-assessment tool on the GDPR website excluded us from this regulation, I still felt it was important to reassure all of my followers and visitors to the policies of this blog concerning your privacy and how your information is used. Please see the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) website for more information on this new regulation and how it affects you.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Privacy is very important to me, therefore I make sure to only use the absolute necessary, non-invasive plugins as possible. Any tracking plugin is used to analyze visitor traffic, pages visited and number of clicks to that page. Limited personal data is used or tracked outside of name and email. No email is ever sold or sent to any third party to my knowledge. Below is a list of all plugins that I use on this blog to aid me in protecting the blog and tracking visitor traffic to enable me to give you a better experience on my blog. See the following sections for more information.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Most embedded content comes from:

Who we share your data with:
Lizzy’s Grand Adventures makes use of several plugins that help track and analyze visitor clicks and traffic on the blog. These analytics are private and protected. Only information that is absolutely needed are used and the rest is discarded. Please see the following list of plugins that I use on my blog to help me keep track of what visitors like.
The following plugins may track visitors are:
Akismet Anti-spam: We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself). (Is now GDPR compliant. See their GDPR preparation page here.)
Follow Us On widget: Follow us on widget helps to share the Social Media buttons as widget. No other information on what they are doing to conform with GDPR. I am currently looking for a different plugin.
Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights: The best Google Analytics plugin for WordPress. See how visitors find and use your website, so you can keep them coming back. They are currently updating their plugin to conform with GDPR. See their privacy Policy and GDPR blog post for more information. To further protect your privacy, I have turned on Anonymizing in the plugin and more information about my Google Analytics settings can be found below.
Jetpack: Brings the power of WordPress.com cloud to self-hosted blogs. It enables me to connect Lizzy’s Grand Adventures to my wordpress account to use the powerful features normally reserved for WordPress.com users. Lizzy’s Grand Adventures has only the bare minimum enabled on this site. Please see their privacy policy for a list of cookies that they store and other info.
Wordfence Security: This is an anti-virus, firewall and malware scanner. Please see this page for their cookies and other information on what they store and why.
Yoast SEO: SEO Solution for WordPress websites and blogs that gives more analytic options than the limited uses found in other plugins. Yoast SEO does not store personal data, only website data. This plugin allows me to set up each post for better indexing on search engines.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
